Arts in the City announces a collage work- shop with Gretchen Bierbaum, president of the National Collage Society. April 24-26, 2008, Thurs.-Sat., 10am to 4:30pm total cost: $240
This workshop is being held in conjunction with the National Collage Society Members Post Card Show opening on Thursday, April 24 at The Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center. A deposit of $100 will hold your place. The class limit is 20 students.
Gretchen will teach us at least 10 and maybe 15!! transfer techniques, including Blender Pen, Rubbing “frottage”, Acrylic Gel Skin and Shipping Tape. We will then use these techniques to work on our own collages during the day. Day one will start with a post card size collage and move into some of the different transfer techniques. As we master these transfers, we will use them in that day’s work. Afternoons will be filled with individual help from Gretchen and her assistant, Bill Kinsey, another award winning collage artist.
